GEM vehicles, which are 100% electric, with a speed limit of 40kms/h and a range up to 45 kms, have special applications on closed residential areas, municipality services, patrol, leisure and other neighbourhood uses. They received worldwide attention during the G8 summit in 2006 in Russia and are well known as the luxury version of the transportation vehicle used by Pope Benedict XVI.
